JW Pet Company Activitoys Birdie Bowling Bird Toy

JW Pet Company Activitoys Birdie Bowling Bird ToyOur parakeet is reserved and typically hides behind the branches I tie in his cage. So I wasn't expecting much by buying him a toy. However, he loves the bowling alley. He climbs on top of it, swings the pins, tries to somersault into the inside, and hangs out on top. It's his favorite toy, and the mirror isn't clear enough for him to bond with, so he keeps looking, thinking he sees someone in there. It's so fun to watch him. We say, "look, Bosley's playing in the bowling alley again!"

My bird loves Birdie Bowling, but he won't play with it if I'm watching him! I have to sneak a peek from around the corner when he thinks I'm not looking. :) I will leave a bowling pin askew, and a few minutes later, he has attacked it and put it back where it belongs, chirping happily.

Our parakeet received this toy at Christmas. It was not his favorite by any stretch of the imagination. That being said he did play with it. Just not as much as other toys he had. Two days ago we found him wedged between the front posts and the red casing that holds the mirror. We were able to carefully get him out, but he must have caused himself some internal damage as he tried to break himself free. Yesterday he could not stand his perches and this morning he passed away. I do not recommend this toy at all under any circumstances.

My parakeet loves this toy and plays with it for hours on end. She has lots of toys, but this is a big favorite. She likes to pull a bowling pin outside the "alley" and balance it on the frame holding the bowling ball, and will work for the longest time until she accomplishes her goal. It's great entertainment (and exercise) for her, as well as for me watching her.

I have a young Parrotlet who enjoys to chew on his toys. I placed this toy in his cage and he did not seem at all interested for weeks. When he finally started playing with it, he quickly got his beak stuck in one of the chain loops.

I was away when this took place, so my poor little guy was leashed by his beak for hours. When i came home I was horrified to see what had happened. The metal loop had a small opening that had basically pierced my bird's beak...like a lip ring. I had to hold my bird down and forcibly work it out of his beak. His beak only suffered minor damage but he was quite traumatized by the whole experience.

I would suggest against buying this toy for your bird because its cheap, poorly manufactured, semi hazardous and uninteresting to birds. I think something like this is more entertaining to the owner of the pet, than to the actual pet itself.
