They only have supervised play with this for 2 reasons. First, there have been a few times where the cord between the wand and the ball have wrapped around their tails or one of their legs. I don't know if it could get tight enough to cut off circulation, but I'd rather not take a chance. Second, my female paticularly likes playing tug-of-war when she catches the ball. When this happens, if I am not there to hold the panic mouse, she will literally drag it all over the house, and even tries to drag it onto the bed.
Overall, I highly recommend it.My cat is obsessed with this toy, he will lay beside it and stare at it until I turn it on.
This item does not hold up to normal cat wear & tear. We probably buy one every 3-4 months. They break frequently. My cat likes to hold on to the toy attached to the wand for a good amount of time once he catches it. I know they are not supposed to do this, but as another reviewer wrotemy cat cannot read the instructions. I gave it 3 stars beacause my cat cannot live without this toy. The company does have quite the racket. They make sub-par toys that your cats make you replace.

This toy nearly killed my cat. The mouse is the perfect size to get lodged in the cats throat, which is exactly what happened when the plastic stick detached from the device (which it did a lot). He nearly choked to death the other night. My suggestion, if you must buy this, use it only under supervision and put it, or at least the mouse away when you are done.Want Panic Mouse 360 Discount?
My kitty is full of energy and always wanting to play! (even when I need to work, sleep, etc!) I recently bought the Panic Mouse 360 for her, and couldn't believe how much she loves it! She thinks she's figured out that it's heading one direction, so she readys herself to catch it the next time around, when it changes direction on her, and hits her in the butt! (Have to say, quite entertaining to watch) She does tend to "catch" the mouse and hold on to it, but I just say, "let go and it will come back" and she lets go to have the fun of catching it again. She loves it and begs to play with it everyday. I don't leave it on the floor for access all the time....so she cries for it, and I let her play for awhile, then put it away. Makes it even more fun when she knows it's like a special treat. This is a great toy for cats of any age. (Mine is almost 5) Plus, you can adjust the speed of how fast the mouse moves around so your cat can catch it.
I highly recommend this for any cat owner. It's a great, interactive toy, full of surprises. My Gigi looks like a little kitten when she plays with her panic mouse...jumping, grabbing, hitting, even sneaking up on it. The fun is when it changes direction and sneaks up on her! It's a little pricey, but your cats will thank you!
