The feather goes around in circles with the battery on. My cat loved it until it wound and wound and wound into his persian fur and got his skin. I couldn't tell what was wrong with him. Her was right in front of me. Poor thing began screaming. It was wound all the way to his skin in two locations under his arm and on his chest.

I DO NOT recommend this toy!!! I'm going to contact the manufacturer.

What a piece of crap! This definitely won't work on carpet, but it's so lame, don't waste your money. If it gets in the most slight groove in your floor, it will pretty much stop working and act retarded. I bought this for times when I was too lazy to play with the cat, but this toy is even lazier. When I purchased this motion Ball Cat Toy I also purchased a package of two replacement, click on, feathers. When I tried to find the replacement feathers again I was told they where discontinued. I have contacted Petlinks Systems and asked if they have discontinued the manufacture of this item or if it's just the retail outlets that have discontinued them. I've not received a reply yet. My cat loves this toy, however the price of it is to high to pay for an item that you can not get the feather head replacements for! Trust me, your cat will have them torn up in no time. My cat went through the original feather head furnished and the two replacements that I purchased in a couple of weeks. This may well be another planned obsolescence ploy on the part of the manufacturer.

I bought one at the pet store because my cat likes playing with feathers and I wanted him to have something to play with when I am working on the computer. As another reviewer pointed out it doesn't work on carpet very well so between the electric motor and the scrapping and thunking on any hard floor surface makes too much noise for my cat to want to play with it. The dog ended up in munching it before I could return it. By the way finding replacement features on a stick that fit in the feather lock isn't easy.
