I got this because it's stuffing-less. My 3-year old Golden Retriever is a power chewer and will immediately go to town on any stuffed animals. (He will NOT chew on any "hard" toys, go figure, that little punk!) Even though my Golden ripped out the squeaker and tore off a wing within 20 minutes, he still likes to carry around the carcass, so I consider this toy to be completely acceptable.

My dog can typically destroy a plush toy in under 5 minutes. These ducks are surprisingly sturdy for being made of fabric. The last one we had lasted about a week before I had to throw it away because it was reduced to ribbons. She LOVES these so much. She will run around the house carrying it in her mouth and shake it so it squeaks. If I try to take it away she goes absolutely bananas. It's so cute to watch! The stuffing is actually completely water soluble and dissolves if wet, so is perfectly safe in case she tries to eat it. The squeaker in the head is actually not a real squeaker, but just a tube that makes a noise because of air blowing in and out when compressed. Kudos to the manufacturer! I got to admit a mistake for my dachshunds. Most know these guys and ladies dig out prey, specifically badgers. So, these "skinneeez" type toys are great for light chewers, just not doxies. I gave what was left, the duck, to my granddaughter for her boxer. Works great...The boxer carries it where ever he goes, even to bed at night. No damage other than to washing machine on occasion.
