Update: Since I can't find another product that can sit in our outdoor screened room, I'll have to buy another and have our tailor stitch another fabric over the top. But I'm going to go with the one level 17" Bunker Steel Cat Condo. My kitten loved it; however, as she would play and jump on it, the tower would fall on her, despite proper assembly.
I would recommend something more sturdy.

My kittens have the platform part of this and they love it! It's alot sturdier than it looks (then again that isn't saying much) My kittens actually jump down on the top of the platform and it doesn't budge. I actually found my part for cheaper at Ross (around $10) and probably would have never paid more than $20 for a single section, I am very happy I found it though and would highly recommend it. It does kind of look like something made with oversided tinker toys but let's be honest, do your cat's REALLY care? Mine are playing with this more than the $60 carpet & sisal tower I got them. You really do need to get a side part or two (or possibly assemble these two blocks side by side instead) or else it will fall over. In fact it says in the instructions NOT to build vertical only and that it needs side supports. Alternatively you could take the extra pipes provided and wing them out on the bottom universal attachments for extra stabilization. Make sure you actually put weight on the pipes when you push them in to make sure that they are completely secure. The idea of this is great (adding on with different sets), but the follow through is seriously lacking. The pipes that hold the tower up are flimsy plastic and the tower will tip over if my cat tries to get on it. The fabric used is even worse and already tore from one use. I would recommend spending the extra money for something more sturdy and engineered a bit better. It was a waste of $25Started out with the single level Kitty City products and got this as the 3rd one. It isn't too sturdy until you get more pieces and connect them together, then it is very sturdy. I have 10 cats and they all play in it or sleep in it. They use the scratching posts and not my furniture anymore. They wouldn't use other scratching posts I bought. It can hold a 20 lb cat with no problem on the second level. After spending a lot more on other items for them to play on, this is cheaper and actually gets used.
