My sister's cats love them too.
Eventually they rip them to shreds and I replace them. They are cheaper at Wal-Mart.

I got two of these for my two kitties, both declawed. Before the day was out there was a big hole ripped in the cheap sides of one of them. They thought it was great fun to climb thru that hole as well as the others. We had nylon ones before that that lasted at least three years. Total waste of money.Read Best Reviews of Pop Open Kitty Play Cube (Colors Vary) Here
In general, cats love these fabric cubes. In the past I have bought the nylon version of this cube for my cats. They are the same size as this version, and pretty much the same design with large holes in the sides to enter or exit. My cats love to hide in them, pounce on them, and nap in them.I always found the nylon cubes at Target--in fact, I believe they are the Target brand for cat/dog items. So when my mom got a cat last month, I went to look for the cubes at the store, and they were out of stock. I went online and found this one on Amazon. It cost about $3 more than the Target nylon version, and you get only one, instead of two. (So actually, per cube, this one costs about $7 more.) I decided to try this one since it was available, and I thought it might be better, since it cost so much more.
The nylon cubes I currently have get a lot of use. I have four cats, and they all enjoy the cubes. I have three nylon cubes that I bought about two years ago--all still in great condition. I had four, but I recently tossed one because the frame finally got too bent out of shape to stand up properly. (Like I said, the cats like to pounce on them from outside the cube when another kitty is inside the cube.) The other three cubes continue to stand up to much abuse.
This particular cube I am reviewing is made of a different material. It doesn't feel like fabric--it reminds me of the fabric-like paper used for some medical gowns. It damages easily, and to expect it to hold up to the average cat in play seems like a lot to ask of this material. Other than that, the cube seems the same. My mom's kitty took to it right away, went inside to inspect, and started running in and out of it. The cube is already punctured in two areas, so when I replace it, I will replace it with the nylon version. I did find the nylon ones on the Target online website, so I ordered another set from them, since I don't see this one lasting very long. I did have to pay for shipping, but even so, I ended up paying only a couple dollars more for the two durable ones than I paid for the one flimsy one. And if you can find them in the store (so that you are not paying for shipping), then that would be the way to go.
The idea of these cubes is brilliant, and I would give the durable nylon version five stars. Cats love them, because they can hide, nap, and play in them, and when you need to get the cubes out of the way for cleaning or guests or whatever, they easily fold into a flat piece that you can slide under the furniture. They are all very lightweight and easy to toss out of the way, too. The two differences between this one I am reviewing and the nylon ones is durability and cost. And, since this less durable one costs almost twice as much, I wouldn't buy this one again. We've had this in use for about one week and it is already nearly in tatters. The enclosure material used is so cheap that it's comimg apart in several places. We have a another cat cube from a different company that is now several years old and it is in much better condition. Don't buy this one.
