This product is great for a long-haired cat who's not all that fond of being brushed. You just put in on your hand and pet away. I tried it on my short-haired cat and it didn't seem to pick up as much fur (fortunately she's happy with a regular brush). But, again, it works great on the longer haired kitty and she's the one I had in mind when I bought it. Other cat brushes don't work; it's like her hair is too silky and wispy (plus she was bitey with a regular brush). This one works for her AND she likes it!
