I have a fairly large male guinea pig who loves this ball! It is big enough for him to have some room to stretch out in and play. The opening is easy to open, and stays securely closed. I don't worry about it popping open and my pig escaping. It should be noted that this product is probably too big for gerbils or hamsters, and too heavy for them to roll. But if you have a larger animal, guinea pig, large rat, chinchilla, then this is perfect. It is a tough plastic, not flimsy at all, so I don't have to worry about crashing into the side of a tabe and it breaking. Great buy.

I got this product so that my hamster could travel around my house without losing her or being harmed by my cats and puppy but it was too cumbersome and too heavy. It was very difficult for my hamster to get the ball to budge and when she did it was hard for her to get it to stop. I got this bigger one so she wouldn't feel cramped but it's just too heavy and large for such a small, light animal.
