My kitten loves the toy. He comes running when I turn it on (it's a bit noisy, by the way--I wonder why the makers couldn't fix the soft grinding noise the motor makes). He plays with it like crazy, but he very quickly learned to dig under the cloth to find the moving part--and he repeatedly "breaks" the hidden mouse off of its connector. It's easy to put back on, but he breaks it right off again. It's very annoying for me to have to keep getting up to fix the hidden piece, when otherwise he would play with this toy for long periods without any supervision.
I plan to try some tape or maybe even superglue to see if I can keep the mouse attached to the motor. I don't want to give the toy a bad review, because I doubt every cat or kitten will be as obsessed as mine is with breaking things. :-) As long as the "mouse" stays undercover, this is a very nice kitty toy.

This product is like the one see on TV, but the seller is an Amazon retailer, and that makes them safer and more reliable in my book. Delivery was prompt, the product was well packaged, the instructions easy.About the product: it's just a little noisier than I expected, but that's not a big deal. The big deal is that when I get it out, my three cats gather 'round and stare at it, trying to figure out what's going on. One of them will get brave and try to catch the mouse, but it quickly moves out of the way. This intrigues them, so after a few minutes they all start trying to stop the mouse...taking turns trying to catch the mouse. It must be pointed out that my cats are lazy, so they prefer to watch the movement, and stick a paw out to catch the mouse, rather than chasing.
I would suggest the manufacturer add a little laser light to the top of the mouse that would show through the fabric cover. Now, THAT would get even my lazy guys chasing it!

My two tabbies are energetic hunters and indoor cats. I usually play with them but wanted a toy they could sometimes use on their own. They do respond to this toy, especially my younger cat, but the problem is that she will catch the mouse and hold it, which results in a HUGE racket that is really unpleasant to listen to. I'm surprised she still goes near the thing, it is so incredibly noisy. And now, after two days' use, it makes a loud squeaking sound as well (not a mouse squeak, either. A squeaking wheel sound like nails on a blackboard.)It's just really poorly made and not crafted to be roughly handled. Why must everything have such shoddy craftsmanship? Can't anything be made to last longer than a week? Shame on the manufacturer.
Also, it's not as imaginatively designed as it could be. The "mouse" is just a large piece of mouse-shaped plastic. Not very mouse-like at all. Not even fur or a tail.
My cats do like the plastic cover, however, and like to stick their heads under it to see what's up. I've taken to sticking their feather toy under the plastic, so they can chase that, instead.
I wouldn't recommend this for your cats. It's just not a quality product. Too bad, because it could have been a decent toy.

My three cats loved it for a couple of days and got tired of it. One fat cat just sleeps on the slick material. I will put away periodically and reintroduce.
