Pros:
1) one of the few toys ever that hasn't been shredded within 20 minutes...these things are indestructible!
2) with a "Chuck-it" catapult, works great outdoors: you don't have to bend over to pick up the ball, and you don't get dog slobber all over your hands.
3) indoors, it doesn't accumulate dog slobber like a tennis ball does, and dogs can play with it in a slightly less unhygienic manner.
4) glows in the dark.
Cons:
Just this:
1) ball has a way of showing up on your lap or at your feet MUCH more often than you'd like; sometimes the ball needs to be given a "time out"...this might actually be more of a dog "con" than a ball "con"...

This ball is awesome. Way to go ChuckIt! If I stick it next to a light for 1-2 minutes, it glows amazingly well for a good 30 minutes to an hour. My dog is ball obsessed, and it doesn't show any damage from a few weeks of daily use.Its also fairly light (its hollow), unlike the LED ball, which is good because my dog likes to catch it on the fly, and I worry about her teeth with heavier balls (she's already knocked one tooth out somehow). I had two LED balls and although they looked great at night, they didn't last a week, the LEDs busted. I would say the brightness of this ball is close to that of the LED ball. At a dark park I can see easily see it from 50 yards away.
Its also rubbery, unlike some stiff glowing nylon balls I have tried, so again, better for the well-being of my dogs teeth.
Fits perfectly in my medium ChuckIt, of course. No other glow ball does that.
My dog was a huge fan of the Buddy Glow ball, which was discontinued a few years ago, and was since lost. Since then I've tried the glowing nylon ball and the LED ball. This is finally a worthy if not superior replacement to the Buddy Glow ball.

Having read the reviews, I was very excited to receive this ball for our 2 year old Pitbull who is a heavy chewer and loves to play with balls. However, I was really disappointed that it lasted less than 10 minutes!
The quality of the ball is very sturdy rubber, however, there are two holes at either end of the ball (not sure why?) so effectively the ball is hollow, this enabled our dog to get her teeth into one of the holes and pull a chunk off the ball off!
If it was solid, with no holes in it, it would be superb. Perhaps the manufacturers will re-evaluate this. If they did, I would definately purchase another one.
For anyone looking for a completely indestructable ball, I would recommend you try these instead:

I purchased these at the same time as this ball and our girl LOVES them, she sits squeezing them in her mouth. Beacuse these balls are tough & SOLID rubber, they are far more hard wearing. They also fit perfectly in a tennis ball chucker. our girl plays with this a lot and so far has not been able to destroy it!
Want Chuckit! Max Glow Ball, Discount?
We just lost our original Max Glow Ball in the forest undergrowth around our house and my dog is beside herself. I've immediately ordered an overnight delivery replacement, and a normal delivery backup--I suggest keeping one in reserve.First, I'm a late comer to the Chuckit system, but my dog and I love it. I have to limit the number of times I chuckit for her because she would run herself to death retrieving if allowed. The tennis ball that came with it was too gross with post-chase slobber though, and when I saw the Max Glow Ball (2.5") I ordered one--it cleans up very easily under running water.
What an overall positive change in my dog! First, now no other balls interest her, only this one! She's a 90 pound Rottie and nothing but an extra large Kong Extreme has been able to withstand her jaws. After retrieving it, she does a kind of rapid, squishing chew on it, but she never grinds on it. Initially, I only let her play with the Max Glow Ball under supervision and would then take it away from her, fearing she'd destroy it in 20 seconds unsupervised. After a few weeks of supervised play, I let her have it inside once during the day, when I just couldn't take her outside because of work/school deadlines. At first she was protective of it every time I went by her, but by the end of the day she finally figured out I wasn't going to take it. Since that day, she has become, for the first time, a truly mellow dog.
The glow aspect is a neat feature for dim light conditions--and she looks funny with the glowing ball in her mouth, but the best parts of the Max Glow Ball are the collapsible squishiness that seems to be very soothing to her, and the two holes in the ball that whistle as it is thrown--helping her better track a long throw.
I hope your dog enjoys it as much as mine.
