But, I think they have some more work to do on the cat food.
The cats were just not interested.
So far, I have tried it three different times. (The box has a generous amount of dry food.)
I've made it thick, thinner and even tried adding it with a packet of their regular food.
As long as this was in their dish, they were on food strike.
I could see this being good for outdoor cats, but our indoor ones totally turned their
backs on it. Their favorite flavor is chicken, and I had hopes they would love it, but
they just don't.
I have to give a lower star on this one.
I even tried to give away the rest, and no one wanted it.
I ended up tossing it out it was wasted. Really wanted my cat to like this one, but it just didn't work out.
I started the quest for new cat food whenever Wellness announced the change in the formulation of the Wellness Core Dry Food. I was very happy with the ingredients and the manufacturing methods for the Prowl (it's made in a human grade processing facility), but my cat just didn't seem to like the taste.
Preparation was simple, add warm water to rehydrate, wait one minute and serve.

My cats were SO excited about the smell of this food, but eating it made them vomit instantly. I understand that you need to introduce new foods very carefully and gradually, so it wasn't because I switched them over cold turkey. Even when they were getting only a dollop mixed with their typical food, the vomiting persisted with both cats. THK has worked well for our dog, but if it won't stay down for more than 5 minutes, something is definitely wrong with the cat formula.Want The Honest Kitchen Prowl Cat Food, 4-Ounce Trial Discount?
The concept is great dehydrated food that takes up less space on your counter/shelf than a bag of dry cat food (and also has better ingredients than many dry foods on the market). However, the smell is horrendous AND my cats refused to even look at it, let alone eat it! If considering, try to get a sample from your local pet store, or order a sample from the website before buying a full box.
