StarMark Easy Glider Max, TCEGMM, 11", (Colors Vary)

StarMark Easy Glider Max, TCEGMM, 11',This would be a good purchase if it were either less expensive or more durable. It is advertised as "very durable and puncture resistant," but our german shepherd tore it up pretty quickly just in normal use -i.e., catching and retrieving it. We didn't let the dog chew on the toy when he wasn't playing with it, but even so it only lasted about two weeks. For $15 I expected more.

Three stars might be a tad generous. Yes it's soft and light so it's easy on the dogs' mouths, but they never get their mouths on it because it really can't be thrown very far, at least by me. When I first got it and threw it, they'd be long past the place where it fell, thinking it was actually going somewhere. Now when they see me pick it up, they look bored and hope I'll just get a different disc. One that flies. This one has lousy aerodynamics. Most reviewers claim it flies well, so maybe it's me, but I have other discs that I can send really well and far (Jawz disc is best). This one I can throw maybe 50 feet on a good throw, which is fairly pathetic. So just a heads-up that majority opinion does not guarantee your own satisfaction. Personally, I highly recommend the Hyperflite Jawz Disc (at Amazon), which is easy to fly really well and far.

I have tried a lot, I mean a lot of frisbees for my dog and these ones fly great and hold up very well. Unless you sit there and allow your dog to use it as a chew toy, which it is not. It should last you a long time just as a frisbee, My dog is a big golden retriever and she destroys everything. But these last as long as you use it for its intended use and not as chew toy they will last a long long time.

This is our pit bull's favorite toy and has outlasted every other toy we've ever given him. He seems to love the feel of sinking his teeth into the foam without being able to penetrate it. I wish we had known about this thing when he was teething as a puppy( before he destroyed a vast, costly assortment of other toys, home furnishings and architectural features). The disc is very lightweight and easy to throw. An excellent product for owners with poor frisbee skills and/or arthritis. Ordering 2 more plus a medium sized ball.

I am SO happy to have tried out this Easy Glider. We've been through a lot of frisbees both before and after trying this one; several have been good but none top this one. Some were too hard rubber or too hard for the dog to pick up off the ground (Kong flyer), others shredded too quickly (pretty much all ones that had any sort of fabric, but especially flip floppy one).

I'm on my 2nd easy glider in 2 years, and it's holding up well. It's our beach toy, and friends will actually recognize me and my dog when they see this bright yellow frisbee flying through the air. It's easy to throw, my dog LOVES catching it in the air (she's getting pretty good), and I'm learning how to throw it against the hard winds and still get some distance out of it. It floats, it doesn't get heavy or soggy, it's easy for the dog to pick up off sand or out of water, and it lasts.

I will add disclaimer that my dog does not destroy or shred toys. We do play tug with this toy, and she does love to shake it around after catching it, so I don't know if I'd call her 'gentle' with toys, but her toys do tend to last forever. This toy has a million bite marks, and eventually the frisbee starts pulling apart at the outside edge, but the last one took about 13 months to start falling apart and we have about 9 months on the current one.

One thing is that this toy is very light, so catches the wind easily. For that reason I can't use it in the yard, as too often it catches an odd current and ends up over the wall at the neighbor's or stuck on a roof. What is a con at home is a serious pro at the beach, though!

I'll probably keep experimenting with different frisbees just for novelty's sake, but I think we'll always have one of these around.
