My cat immediately plopped down on top of the scratchers as soon as I took them out of the package and proceeded to go into berserk catnip mode (scratching, rubbing, even a little bit of drooling...).

Anyway, they work great with the alpine scratcher and last pretty long, all things considered. Love being able to just throw them in recycling.

I have had a Cosmic Catnip Alpine Scratcher for many years (around 12 years I think), and am so amazed that with all the use it gets by my two cats, it has lasted so long. So long, in fact, that many of the local pet stores don't even carry refills in this size anymore. Very glad I was able to find it on Amazon as I order several at a time to make sure I have them on hand. My cats have expensive cat trees with scratching posts, but the Cosmic Catnip Alpine Scratcher is still their favorite. I hope Amazon will always carry this product.

I have purchased this item for several years and always found them to be a good buy. When I went to my retailer, Petco, to purchase I found that they had been dropped the Alpine product and replaced with their house brand. A quick look showed that the "house" brand was an inferior product and not a quality product to compete with Alpine. I found the Alpine product on Amazon and placed my order that was delivered immediately.

When I opened the Alpine I saw that it had been improved from my last purchase and I can provide expert witness to the quality of the scratcher from a couple of cats who are very knowledgeable about this particular product. It remains, in my opinion, the best product of its type on the market and is priced so it is a good value. Its a very cheap investment to provide your cat with a nondestructive alternative to satisfy the need to scratch
