My dog had it chewed to pieces within a few days. The idea of the treat in the ends is a good one but unfortunately it is the weakest point of the toy.

I HAVE A BLACK LB PIT MIX AND A BOXER PIT MIX...I HAVE HAD THE BONE FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS NOW! AND IT IS STILL IN ONE PIECE! VERY VERY LITTLE TINY KNICKS IN IT BUT AFTER THIS LONG WHO CARES! AND NO I DID NOT BUY THE SPECIAL SQUEEZE CHEESE CRAP THEY SELL FOR THE KONGS, I BOUGHT A JAR OF PEANUT BUTTER AND USED A BUTTER KNIFE TO PUT IN EACH END! LOVE IT!

Just about the only thing I've found that lasts even a little while. Other than the firehose squeaky toys I make my self, this bone lasts longer than most toys. It's rubber, she's a strong chewer, it's bound to fail at some point but it does pretty well.

I love Kong merchandise, but am a little disappointed in this particular product (LARGE/RED Goodie Bone). The reason is that it's a big, beefy, thick bone that really seems targeted towards dogs with powerful jaws. I have a medium-sized Vizsla that is a moderately enthusiastic chewer, but by no means above average. The large, red Kong lasted 7 or 8 minutes with him, then split near the goodie holes on both ends. I always supervise him with toys, and immediately noticed when he pulled off a chunk of rubber about the size of a bon-bon so as to prevent him from eating it.

There must be a considerable difference between the red rubber of this product and the black rubber of the Kong Extreme, because the medium-sized Extreme usually lasts 2-3 weeks with the same dog. I think the red version is best suited to gentle chewers.
