Petstages Catnip Chew Ring

I must say that I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of this toy. I bought it yesterday and this morning the stitching has already come apart on the toy and the stuffing inside has come out (I'll download a picture). Obviously the cat loved the toy but for it to fall apart so quickly means it's not worth the money even though it cost less than $4.00

I brought the toy back to the store the very next day to get a refund but was told that I'd have to go through the manufacturer so I'll keep you posted. It would be nice if they replaced the toy.

**UPDATE** The manufacturer contacted me about 2 weeks later. They asked me to return the broken toy with the packaging and reciept in order to get a replacement. I replied that I did not keep the reciept nor the packaging (who would for a $4 toy?) and that it would cost me more to send it back to them (I'm in Canada) then it would for me to go out to buy a new one, which I quickly assured them I did not plan on doing. I thought that was the end of it but about another 2 weeks later they did send Pickles (the cat) a replacement plus 2 other new ones. So far they have not fallen apart.

One of my cats, Hermione, received this as a present last Christmas. It was her favourite out of all the toys she received and she had a blast chewing and kicking it.

It is constructed of pretty durable fabric so it hasn't been torn up; even a year later. I don't know if it's cleaning her teeth or not, but she sure does have fun!

The other cat just liked the paper it was wrapped in.

This toy has been a favorite! One of our siamese cats that has a chewing fixation. He will chew (and sometimes eat) almost anything sisal, plastic, wood, rope or string, feather, and many fabrics. And power cords. Sometimes I buy him dog toys because they are sturdier! This brand of toys in particular holds his interest, and I like the quality. He has never tried or been able to destroy them, even though he plays with them all the time. My two other cats also like this toy. This is a brand I can always count on to entertain and last.

My cat, Haya-ji, has obsessive compulsive disorder. He used to chew his nails down to the quick obsessively, chew plastic mice to a pulp, and hide often. We have now discovered that chewing on this ring calms him down and is a positive thing for him to fixate on. Between this and some kitty anti-anxiety meds, he is feeling much better. His vet says he has incredibly clean and healthy teeth as a result, too.

One ring lasts about a month before he has completely demolished it, but keep in mind he is a VERY strong chewer.

The local stores all stopped carrying this item, so we have to have them sent to us in batches so he has his "fix" for a while.
