I used to buy these mice all the time for my Japanese Bob-Tails because they had catnip in them and when you throw them across the room, it was so much fun to watch the cats pounce on the mouse, shake it, and bring it back to you to throw again. Without the catnip, there is no weight to the mouse and the cats do not seem to want to play with them as much. I don't know why Hartz quit putting catnip in them, but it is a waste of money to buy a big pack of mice that the cats won't play with.

This type of mouse is both of our cats' favorite toy. Unfortunately, they get lost or chewed on by our dogs fairly often. This is a great value to keep us well-stocked!

Synthetic fur and no rattle, I should have assumed so when it was not in the product description. The cats aren't crazy about them, but they will chase them if thrown.
