ecoPure 8-Ounce Flea and Tick Shampoo

ecoPure 8-Ounce Flea and Tick ShampooI've been using this product on my dog for a year now and I'd say we've only found about 4 or 5 fleas on her. We live in Florida by lots of trees and a canal in the back yard and still she hardly gets any fleas. We also only bathe her 1 every 2 weeks and she lives in the house, shes about 21 lbs. For me this shampoo has saved her from the health damaging effects of using all those flea collars and flea meds. Keep in mind you cant expect to use a product like this and never see any fleas but the most shes had at one time was one and Id much rather pick one flea off her than put those toxic products into her blood and body. I highly reccomend this product.

I love this product. Eco, pet and human friendly, doesn't smell bad, kinda nice, but strong. It doesn't take much to use. I suggest not using a comb, the soap makes the cat fur very slippery, I used scrubby (exfoliant) gloves purchased at Walmart for $2, it helps to make sure the water and shampoo soaks completely into the cats coat. Plus, the dead fleas stick to the gloves and fall off when you place the gloves in water. Only have had to use the shampoo twice last summer and this spring and I still have most of a bottle.

This is okay, but I had a few problems with it:

1) You need to leave it on the dog for a couple of minutes. We used this on our 6 week old puppy, because it was the only safe way to deal with her fleas. She is not used to baths yet, so keeping her lathered up and in the bath for the extra time was hard on her.

2) The smell: it is unpleasant, strongly herbal and it didn't go away for 2 days. My son's didn't want to play with her at all the first day because she smelled.

Other than that, it seemed to help her until she was old enough for us to us something stronger. I threw away the rest of the bottle, once we didn't need it anymore.

Well the little furry one has had 4 washings with eco-Pure. I have not noticed any skin irritation. The fur is very soft as commented by others, and the fleas are not entirely gone but, that has improved dramatically. But let's face it, even dish washing will kill fleas. The ecoPure smell is not as bad as some may say. The little one likes it. And isn't that the proof of the pudding? Don out.

A couple weeks ago I tried to bathe my small cat to get rid of as many fleas possible to ease her itching while we waited for flea medicine. It wasn't very effective in removing fleas. With the order of flea medicine, I included an order of this shampoo.

The difference between bathing with this shampoo versus without is very noticeable and great. This shampoo really stunned and washed a lot of fleas off of her body, with the assistance of a flea comb. Probably a hundred or so fleas were removed. With the help of the comb and Advantage flea medicine, she is now flea-free! This is reporting 3 days after use of all 3 products. :) I am a happy pet owner.
