I wanted to encourage Olli to use his scratching device instead of my furniture, so I sprayed SmartyKat's anti-scratch stuff on my furniture, and this stuff on his scratching curve. The anti-scratch spray is more effective, but this works alright, too just not for very long. The catnip wears off and I have to keep spraying it on. Olli likes to curl up and roll around on the scratching curve after I've sprayed this stuff on, but am not sure he uses the curve for scratching all that much. I guess I have to constantly use it to get him trained to keep his paws off the furniture!
