Go Pet Club Cat Tree Beige Color

Go Pet Club Cat Tree Beige ColorI was a little bit wary about this product, since I couldn't see it in person and some people complained about it being wobbly. To be honest, I haven't noticed any problems at all with it tipping over or even wobbling when my cat jumps on/off it, and she is about 10.5 lbs. I was also concerned that she might not like it much, but she LOVES it. She hangs out in the little house (she fits just fine)...I put a blanket in there to make it a little more comfortable. She also loves sitting on top of it and playing with the little mouse (which she still hasn't torn off in spite of a few weeks of playing). No complaints at all this cat tree does just what I wanted it to do, and my cat loves it! :) And, you can't beat the price!

Also I did place it against the wall, but it's just more convenient that way. It also might help it stay balanced, so maybe it would be less stable free standing. But against a wall, it works perfectly.

I have 3 cats and they are on the hefty side I saw none of the tipping concerns mentioned in some of the reviews. I am happy with the quality of this product. The one con with the product is that the mouse on the string was tore off the first day.

I purchased this cat tree for my approximately 6-pound, fully-grown kitty. She loves to climb, and she loves to scratch, and since we moved into a smaller space, she hasn't had many places to do much climbing. Even after reading all of the previous reviews, I chose this one because I *actually* read the item description, which apparently the majority of other purchasers failed to do.

Appearance:

The beige color is a little closer to ivory, but it certainly looks great in our living room corner, with wood laminate flooring and off-white walls. It's not a terrible eyesore like many cat trees can be, and will sit very nicely out of the way. Beware when you first open the box, though. You will have little ivory-colored bits of carpet shedding all over the place while you unpack and assemble it. Have the vacuum cleaner ready!

Assembly:

It took me maybe 5-10 minutes to assemble the entire thing. It comes in 10 pieces (not counting the hardware and hex wrench, which is obviously included as well), and the directions make it quite clear how to assemble the piece.

Function:

My cat is not quite normal. At first, she wanted nothing to do with this strange new beast that invaded her home. A tiny bit of catnip rubbed on the posts and platforms, however, quickly made this her new best friend! She weighs about 6 pounds (maybe a little more), and while she is slightly long for climbing from level to level, she enjoys jumping up to the higher platforms, and crawling into the little alcove. Scratching the posts seems to suit her, too. For those who complained that their 11-pound, 20-pound, or Maine Coon(!) cats couldn't safely play on it: That's because it says clearly in the item's description that it is for a "small cat." The very last time I checked, 20 pounds certainly did not qualify a cat as "small." 11 pounds is rather beefy, too. At about 6 or 7 pounds, mine can play with this just fine. She's almost 11 years old, and enjoys the mouse-like critter suspended from the top platform. There's no noticeable wobble when she mounts or dismounts from any level of the structure, and it is not propped up on a wall, and I did not add any additional support or weight. One previous reviewer stated that it looked as if it would bend if a person were to lean on it. Well, it's not intended for *people* to play on it, so I also wouldn't recommend resting on it for support. But if your kitty gets tired, he or she will love to play or rest on the soft, silky carpeting on this cat tree.

All in all, this is great for a growing kitten (not too tiny, though) or a *small* cat. The carpet is soft and silky, and the structure is sturdy. If your cat doesn't seem too keen on it at first, try rubbing and sprinkling a tiny bit of catnip on it and then put the cat on it. They'll be in love, and you'll have some entertainment watching them play.

I ordered this cat tree last week. Two weeks ago in the process of moving, the moving truck caught fire and burnt to the ground. EVERYTHING is having to be replaced. Her old cat tree was about half as tall and she wasn't really so fond of it. Our 1 y/o English Bull Dog has for some reason decided that playing with the cat is her new favorite thing; the cat does not share this enthusiasm. The old one was $60 and boring. This one was the same price, twice the size, much softer material and more things for Zoe to do, not mention tall enough that now she can get up high and torment the puppy!!!!! Lol Zoe is a 7 year old very playful, cuddly cat who comes when you call her name, plays fetch, rolls over for you to rub her belly and loves to steal your ice cream when not looking. She is not however a very big cat. But even with her at full speed and the Bull Dog running into the tree it is very sturdy and we have. It had to anchor it at all nor has there been any sway to the tower. VERY EASY AND FAST ASSEMBLY. Took less than 10 minutes from opening the box to finish. Zoe was already sitting on it before it was fully assembled. Each level that was put together she climbed up. We are in the south with an enclosed front porch. In the process of painting it remained on the porch for a couple days until ready to move it in to the new house ( indoor cat only ) and whenever we could not locate Zoe we found her ( she is quick and like HOUDINI ) on the front porch sitting on her tree. She took every opportunity possible to sneak out the inside door and get to her new cat condo!!!!!! Would definately buy it ALL OVER AGAIN.

This is a fairly solid cat tower. It blends into the living room decor very nicely and looks plush and neat without drawing attention away from the human activity. One caveat though... If you have adult climbing cats I highly recommend you plan on anchoring this to a wall with a small L bracket. While is reasonably steady, it is top-heavy. It wouldn't take much activity for it to topple. Having said that, we put our cat's food on the top pad. Our dogs think it tastes much better than theirs and we needed a place other than the buffet upon which the cat could leisurely dine. We fit a small L bracket under the 3rd pad up and put one screw into the wall stud. This has worked really well...ok, not so much for the dogs but thats ok:>) I subtracted one star because the photo shows what appears to be a larger base than what was shipped with my unit. My base appears to be about 2" smaller all around. This results in the necessity of anchoring it. I really think that if the base were the size it is in the picture it would be solid as a tank.
