I'd give it 5 stars, but the locking mechanism is only engaged as long as your hold down the button. Lift your thumb, and the cable attempts to retract.

Overall it's a great product. The cable is sturdy and the plastic body is durable and thick. The cable retraction force is very light, wasn't a problem for my cats at all. When they get to the end of the line there's no great shock either, they just stopped moving forward over the course of a step. To me, it seems very tolerable for the cats I use it with.

Word of advice: you do not need two of these. These units won't be effective with dogs (IMO, I haven't tried), and you do not want multiple cats on leashes. Go ahead, try it out if you think I'm wrong!

There is no hookable loop or anything that will let you clip this onto another line. Were the handle a carabiner, I would clip it onto a horizontal line that runs across my yard to provide extra freedom. This is only good for handheld use.

The Flexi CAT works well. It retracts smoothly and the locking mechanism is easy to operate. My cat likes to stick close to me and to travel with me. I would give it five stars if the handle contained a clip to attach it things such as a fence or drawer pull so that I could use it to keep my cat close by when gardening, for example, or in my office with the door open. I use a carabiner to attach the handle to things and would buy this product again.

I bought this item as well as the Coastal Pet Pink Mesh Cat Harness for my 7 month old kitten. I picked this leash because it was cute, pink, and looked like it would go great with the harness I bought. It is very cute and does go well with the harness. It also works well. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the length. I wish it was a bit longer. Other than that though, it is a great leash that looks great with the new harness while on my cat. I have enjoyed being able to take my cat for walks every now and then. I will probably get a longer leash in the future, but it works for now.

It's a good thing my kitty isn't writing this review. I think this item is adorable and it works very well at keeping her

where I want her to be. She doesn't think it's so hot but all kitties resist confinement. The unit is made very well, is

quick and easy to put onto the kitty and press the button and she stops. When the button is released she is free to roam

for 10 feet. I live in an apartment and it's imperative that kitties are kept in the apartment or under good control. I

would recommend this for restraining your kitty.

This product is very good with only one flaw. It is very easy to accidentally release the stop on the leash, putting unexpected pressure on the cat.
