I used to have heavy duty one, I thought it would work as good as old one. but i was wrong.
my cats get sensitive because It doesn't work too good and hurt my cat's skin a little bit when I tried to cut and pull the hairball.

The handle is comfortable and is easy for me to grip. The blades seem sharp enough and it does work well. I'm a little leery of the brand because of previous experience with some scissors but hoping it lasts. I do use this in a professional setting and will update this review if any trouble.Read Best Reviews of Easy Groom 6-Inch Pet Dematting Comb Here
I bought this for my shih-tzu puppy after looking at another where most reviews described that comb's teeth as being very sharp. My puppy is learning to hold still to be groomed and I was concerned about the squirming they do making the other comb better as a 2nd item when she's a little more used to this type of product.
The edges on one side are completely smooth and "sharp" but not razor-sharp on the other. The teeth move a little and I'm not sure they are supposed to but that they do makes the comb wiggle through a matt fairly easily. I also purchased Tropiclean Pet Tangle Remover Spray (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000634IUO/ref=ox_ya_os_product) to help with stubborn matts and/or matts in more sensitive areas.
Brushing first is essential and in the opposite direction a brush can get much of the undercoat but I found using this comb before brushing the hair back (on the sharper/"jagged" side) is able to get deeper at the undercoat. The jagged side caught hair I thought a thorough brushing was doing, like a magnet, which is great for longer haired breeds/dogs that need their undercoat brushed, daily.
It also works great for parting and going over topknot hair before putting in a bow!
I would have given this 5 stars but, it's only shortcoming is the teeth are slightly too far apart and too thick to catch very tiny matts on its own. You have to work the very small ones out so you're holding about 1/4" of hair for the comb to loosen them enough to easily pull out the very tiny matts w/o any pain to your dog.
It's packaged _really_ well and, comes with both a see through case for easy and sanitary storage with an extra snap-close cover for the teeth of the comb. The handle is easy to grip with a thumb rest on the comb for control while using.
The instructions do not come with the comb so if you're new to at-home grooming, you might want to print them out from the product page.
It seems like it might be too small for large breed dogs but, I'd recommend this product as a starter comb for puppies/squirmy dogs or to maintain the hair/fur on any age (small to med size) dog between using other products that thin or cut the length of the coat.
