Catit Design Senses Illuminated Ball - 2-Pack

Catit Design Senses Illuminated Ball - 2-PackI bought extra of these when I noticed they were part of the Catit track thinking they would be fun. Unfortunately, when I rolled them to make them flash my cat stared intently but never tried to roll it himself. The light was interesting but the ball part just bored him and he would never chase it. I also added a light up ball to my existing Catit track and he quit using the track unless I pushed the lighted ball and again when it quit flashing walked away. After changing back to the green and black non-flashing ball he finally began to play with track again.

My cats like this product however, one of the balls stopped lighting up after only 5 minutes. I am using it, at night, in the Catit Circuit Original toy. If both balls worked correctly, this would be a good toy for the money. Of NOTE : I foster cats and have a multiple cat household, the Catit Circuit Original Maze has by far been the most loved and played with toy.

My kitties love these little flashing balls. I got this two pack to replace the plain ball that comes with the Hagen Catit Design Senses Play Circuit, Original. They love the play circuit toy and were fascinated with the flashing ball, unfortunately...

...the first ball continued to flash when activated FOR ONLY THREE MONTHS. When it stopped working the other night, I took the second unused ball from the package, removed the plastic strip, AND IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL.

I phoned the manufacturer/Hagen yesterday; they asked me to email a copy of my Amazon receipt for the illuminated balls, which I did, and they're sending a two-pack to replace them.

These little balls, when they work, are worthy of a 5-star review, so I'll give one star for each month that the first one worked, and subtract another for the other one that didn't work. I'll be interested to see how long the replacements last. . .if they work at all.

I have had one of these balls for my Catit circuit and I've got to tell you, please know your cat before you buy this product with the illuminated ball or just the balls themselves.

Cats are finicky and very particular creatures. Some loves lights, some do not. Some love sounds, like bells, others do not. Some love motion, well most all love motion, but that does not necessarily mean they like glitter or sound within the object in motion.

Read your cat. Know your cat before making this purchase or any type of purchase of toys for that matter. I had a UV penlight that I led my cat around any room I wanted to much hilarity. It was not intimidated or entranced by it, it was obsessed with getting to it. So I knew it would chase this flashing ball in the Catit circuit. I got an circuit with illuminated ball to extend onto the original with the plain green ball and sure enough, cat loves it as well.

Too low negative reviews because of cats and their finicky, particular, and specific nature and not because of the product.

I bought several boxes of the Catit toys and was lucky I ordered the illuminated balls. This line is great for cats because you can change the shapes of their toys when they get bored. My fat cat, who ignores my laser pointer, has really played with the mazes because of the illuminated balls. They have a good weight, so the cat has to get physical to get the balls to move, unlike the ping-pong weight balls in other mazes or hunt-and-chase toys I've tried in the past. If you get one of the Catit mazes, I seriously suggest you ordered these balls and replace the standard ones when you put your maze together.
