I wish it were heavier so my cat could actually use the scratch post, but it is the beginning of a great playground!

We took in a shelter cat last month and bought this for him a day after. The original plan was to buy one set and then build him a bigger condo with the variety of sets offered for separate purchase. After taking it out of the box and seeing the cheap construction we then decided to "wait and see". This set lasted all of three weeks. The cloth is very thin. The plastic frame is very flexible(wobbly!) and cheaply made and actually came with "spare" rods for when they break (not a good sign!). Our cat is an adult cat weighing 11 pounds. I'm not sure how a smaller cat would fare as the material itself just did not stand up to cat claws. Within a week there were holes from where he'd used his claws for balance on and in the thing (it is surprisingly wobbly for a cube. And two weeks after that those holes just ripped through the flimsy cloth and now the bottom is out. The scratching post is about the cheapest I've ever seen. It is the sisal wrapped around a CARDBOARD roll! There was nothing substantial for him to scratch on and he gave up trying. Also want to note that any time he tried to scratch the whole thing would turn over on him. He has enjoyed lounging on the top of it, however, given how the bottom has ripped out I think we are going to toss it for his safety. I do not want to have to cut him out of it as another reviewer has said she had to do for her cat. For what we spent on this thing we could have had one of the really nice carpet covered wooden kitty condos AND a real scratching post. They are far sturdier. We just thought this thing looked like more fun. Will not buy another product from this line again. Complete waste of money.

I was looking for additions to my kitty city tower (it has an additional cube than this) and happen to come upon this for $49. I got my kitty city for $30 and it was bigger than this one. Before getting ripped off check out your local target or walmart!

Bought the climbing tower and the hideaway sections and my ferrets have been playing non-stop in/on it for over an hour. Great exercise gym for them.

my larger cat likes to lounge on top while the smaller cat plays inside. unfortunately, i cant get them to use the scratch post (EVER) so they still use the side of my couch. they also arent amused by the balls with bells hanging from the posts. overall, its just a lounge for both cats.
