Da Bird Sparkly Refill Attachment

I was shopping for a 10 pack refill of the feather attachments (the best interactive cat toy EVER!)and on impulse I added this sparkler and a "mousie" to my order. One of my cats went nuts over this sparkler. I really did not expect this. Is it the noise? Is it that cats (like me) also like SHINY things? The sparkler refill had him spinning in circles and making impressive leaps in fast repetition until he was panting, and he still did not want to stop! I think I found part of the cure to kitty obesity here!

Yes, the sparkler things start to fall off. Do not allow the cat to play with this thing without supervision. You do not want kitty to eat this plastic. And some cats will like it better than others.

I wish the mylar or whatever material was stronger. My cat just in playing with it for a few minutes and chewing on it for a second was able to chew a couple pieces off and eat them.

I bought a couple of them but am not going to use them since I'm pretty sure having a cat eat the sparkler material isn't good for the cat.

The first Da Bird sparkly refill I bought lasted about a week before it started coming apart. On the second one, I tightly wrapped a small piece of duct tape (about a half inch wide) around the red part and the sparklers. It has now lasted over four months. It is used daily and my cats are rough with it.

I made the mistake of thinking that my cats would not be interested in this attachment b/c it was neither fur nor feather. I could not have been more wrong! All of them were instantly engaged & loving it! Pieces can be bitten off & ingested though so keep a close eye on them while playing & I would never leave it out unattended.

I did not think my cat would enjoy this, but he really does! A lot! The material lasts longer than I expect and can hold up for quite some time if you don't let your cat have free reign over the toy. This really was a great buy overall and I will be purchasing again when the current one needs replacing.
