This toy is very rugged and my dog (110 lb. boxer/mastiff) loved it from the start. At this point i don't expect a squeeker in any toy to hold up for more than a couple days, this was no exception. (only exception so far has been KONG Air Dog Squeaker Football Dog Toy, Large, Yellow ) However, the toy itself is somehow still fully in tact even after constant gnawing. I gave 4-stars only because of the squeeker breaking so soon.

My dog absolutely loves this toy. The minute she comes in the house, the obvious look on her face is: "where's my gator?". She will not rest until it is located, then all her troubles fade away. Delivery was practically overnight too. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I got the Big Squeak Gator, not from Amazon, but from a local pet store after we gave our Labrador retriever a similar product, the Giant Squeak Jelly Fish (which we did get from Amazon) for his first birthday. We got that one because he likes to shake his toys, and we thought the tentacles would be good for him. Unfortunately none of the local stores carried it, so we got it here. That one worked out so well (separate review on that product page) that we got a Gator to have on standby for when it finally went.

The Jellyfish survived for just over 6 months, a record for his toys that he actually plays with. Unfortunately, he destroyed the Gator in under 24 hours. The key seems to be the eyes. He was able to use the eyes that were raised from the main body to tear the covering off and tear it in half. Disappointing in comparison to the similar product that worked out so well. We probably will get him another jellyfish, but none of the other similar ones.

My 50lb dog had this toy destroyed in less than five minutes. It is just a big piece of plastic covered with cloth. Thought is would hold up as it said "no stuffing" and "for large dogs", instead of stuffing the dog was eating the plastic shell that makes the toy squeak and gives it shape, and leaving that mess all over the house. Really disappointed especially for the price. I would strongly discourage others from wasting their money and buying this toy.

Took it out of the package.. Gave it to a female greyhound. Threw the wrapping in the trash. Sat down on the couch and noticed that the toy was now in two parts! Threw the toy away so dog wouldn't eat the whole thing
