At first there was some frustration, because the ikea-style directions mislabel two of the pieces, and instruct you to use the wrong piece right off the bat. We wondered why there was no bolt on the end of the first pole piece when there was a hole for a bolt to go into. Once we reached the end and had a pole with a bolt trying to match up to another piece with a bolt, we knew that first pole wasn't in the right place. Disassembled and reassembled -not too big of a deal, but annoying.
We set it up in a corner near the window so our kitty could look outside. After a few weeks, she only ever went halfway up the tower and never jumped up to the top bucket-bed piece. We figured out that you could tug on the cloth/foam walls of the bucket piece and roll the fabric under so the kitty could see the now open top platform. After putting a treat or two up there, she started using the top area regularly.
She never crawls into the alcove, but she loves scratching on the posts, especially the top rope-covered post. She's not very into the dangly toys, but she likes the tower itself and when she's not on her favorite blanket, she's on the tower sleeping on the soft "kitty paw" landing or on the top tier.
I can see why some buyers complain that this tower is too small for big kitties. We have an adult female who likely had kittens at a young age, which will stunt a cat's growth. She is not a large cat, and this tower fits her perfectly. If she were any bigger, I doubt she'd be as comfortable sleeping on the landings or climbing up to the top tier. Another complaint is that the tower is too wobbly. It certainly wobbles on our carpeted floor when our kitty is climbing up onto the top landing, but we made sure to securely fasten the pieces together during construction, and I don't feel that it's dangerously unstable.
I definitely recommend this product to anyone with a smaller adult cat (or kitten!) who is looking for a fairly stylish tower for their kitty to enjoy.

This is handsome and looks great in my LR. I like it, but I do have reservations. This is my "additional" cat tree. My primary cat tree was moved to the kitchen area so that my cat could look at the birds in the garden. My cat is interested in the new Cat tree and he has climbed it a bit and scratched on it alot. My cat is a BIG boy--the platforms are a bit small for him. He hasnt managed the "turret" on the top---it isnt cut as low for entry as the photo led me to believe. My cat, Cody, would like to climb into the top turret but hasnt figured out how to do it yet. {The best way would be to jump from the top of the TV but I am not going to suggest that!} I think smaller very athletic cats could manage it fine.
I think this piece of cat furniture is best for small to medium size cats

The picture is very misleading as this tree is a dingy dark brown, smaller than you vision, and quite unstable. I do NOT suggest buying this ugly, cheap cat tree. My two 10 month old cats will not jump on the flat perch, the paw perch, and certainly not the top bed due to the unit being so unstable. They tried it once and quickly leaped off because it wobbled so much. I tried switching the paw perch and bed around so they could at least get into the bed but they still won't even attempt to get on it one more time! The housing unit is very small and is made of particle board that is GLUED together! The entire unit is particle board accept for the ugly carpeted poles. The faux fur is horrible and I will not purchase another tree with this type of fabric. This is a poorly constructed cat tree and definitely not worth spending a penny on. I really have nothing good to say about this tree accept the bed is the only item that is a decent size and seems comfortable however it is impossible to get to due to the poor design and lack of stability. There are many more websites with good quality cat trees to choose from. Those who love their cats will spend the extra money for a quality product I will definitely spend extra for a quality tree!Want Go Pet Club 62" Tall Greyish Black Cat Tree Furniture Discount?
My cat loves jumping on this thing. I'll be honest, it took a little while to assemble. I ended up not even putting the very top piece on because it did make it a little wobbly, and accessing it was dificult since the sides are much higher than what is displayed in the picture. After a few weeks of not much usage, my cat, Sugar, absolutely loves jumping and playing on this. She stands on the middle platform and grabs the rope scratching post with both paws and gnaws on the post, eyes as big as they can get! Before I go to work, she's usually on right side platform awaiting her send-off attention. It is great seeing Sugar playing with her Christmas present!
The construction is solid. I would have liked seeing the platform a little bigger for stability, but it works out fine. I've had it now for 7 months and it is holding up well. It looks like it will last a very long time.
