Purina Pro Plan Dry Puppy Food, Chicken and Rice Formula, 34-Pound Bag

We raise 2-3 litters of Belgian Malinois and Belgian Sheepdog puppies each year. Very small scale breeders of show dogs only. And we've tried a bunch of different puppy foods over the years. It is always a balancing act on price vs quality vs availability. After nearly 15 years of doing this, we have settled on this puppy food as our standard. Puppies do well on it, they eat it readily, and buyers of our pups can find it all across the country. Even more so now that Amazon is in the mix!

We start out putting it in a blender with goat's milk that we produce here on the farm. Start out blending it into mush. Then, as they get older, we blend it less and less. Until finally we are just mixing it with milk and serving. Goat's milk is the best!

I was told this was the food the breeder I purchased my pup from, was feeding him. He eats it eagerly and has had no issues with it. Although it is a 3 star food, I feel the fact that he eats it so well makes up for the fact that its not a higher rated food. Ive used many of the 5 star foods before and have always had trouble getting my Goldens to eat them. Goldens tend to have food and environmental allergies..On this food my Goldens have beautiful coats and no allergy issues. Im sticking with this one!

This is a good food. Our GoldenDoodle loves it. The price is right. .. and it was readily available... until.. our local store changed managers, and the new guy wanted to stock the shelves exclusively with boutique food and Science Diet. I could have driven three hours away to another store that *might have* had a bag.. but Amazon actually had it for a better price, delivered in two days using Prime. Thanks Amazon!
