I got this at a local pet store, and the moment Princess saw it her eyes lit up, this was something she wanted! She bit and tore and in a couple of days, it was broken apart and spread across the apartment. However, Princess is still carrying the stick and the rubber band around wanting me to play with it, so we have had hours of fun with that. Hence my 3*, as it is actually entertaining her, just not the way it was intended.

My cat loves toys like these but this one I don't recommend to buy. I took this cat toy out of it's packaging, unfolded the string, and attempted to play with my cat and the string broke off the ball. My cat barely even touched it and it just came off. Upon further inspection of where the string was attached it looked like the string was attached with hot glue or something similar. Anyhow, I put the toy right back in the box and returned it that day.

I have two cats. They absolutely loved this toy. The straw ball is filled with catnip, and they love going after the feathers. However, literally on the first time playing with it, the feathers began falling out. And within a week, they had chewed through the ball. If this was more durable, it would be a perfect toy, but I can't afford to buy 52 of these a year.

Our cat goes through about one of these a month. It is a clever design and the materials are nice, but the construction is just very poor. The feathers are held together with a rubber band and the cat rips them out easily, 2-3 per play session. And the straw ball is very weakly held together, if you step on it, it's toast. But the cat loves this above all other toys, which easily gives it a star or two. "If it dangles, I mangles," he says.
