DuraScoop No-Spill

DuraScoop No-SpillI absolutely LOVE this litter scoop! I have owned one for at least 4 years now and it was getting a bit worn out, so I've been looking for a replacement in pet stores for a while. I could never find them in stock so turned to Amazon and was really excited to find them available. I was astonished to see that my favorite scoop got such low reviews from others!

The big advantage to this scoop is that by sliding forward the under layer, it creates a shovel that won't drop any mess back down into the litter box. I have had two cats now who like to pee near the bottom of the litter which makes the litter stick to the bottom of the pan. If I try to scrape this up with a regular scoop, small loosened pieces of saturated litter end up staying in the pan and make it necessary to completely dump the litter more often. With this scoop, I shake the loose litter away from the stuck-on area, slide the bottom of the scoop up to make a shovel, and then scrape everything up without worrying about any of it falling back down into the litter box. For solids and free-floating clumps, I open the slats and let the unused litter sift through.

I will say that I was surprised how stiff this one was to slide back and forth compared to my 4-year old heavily used one, and that might be contributing to other reviewers having some difficulty getting the openings to the size they want. I fully expect the scoop to loosen up a bit in just a little while, and then I will have no complaints at all. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

This little product has made a dirty job a lot easier. It is solid enough not to bend under the weight of the cat litter, and flexible enough to scrape stuff out of corners. I don't really use the sliding back feature, but haven't removed it as it helps keep the scoop rigid.

The underside of the scooper bends and comes loose, making the scooper useless. When you think about it, the no-spill feature is really useless in the first place... The litter is supposed to fall out.

This thing is a joke. Within a couple of weeks, the plastic "sliding" part began to bow and bend out of shape, to where it wouldn't sit flat against the other part, so litter kept getting stuck in there. It's heavy and awkward compared to other scoops, and difficult to keep clean because of all the spaces and gaps between parts. I tossed it and went back to a regular scoop.

We are a multi-cat family and needed a scoop to work with our scoopable cat litter. The "adjustable" slots are a joke. The slots are too large in the fully open position and once you adjust them to be smaller the litter does not sift at all. Don't waste your time or money on this if you have cats.
