I paid $50 (including shipping because I have Prime) for this tote and I have to say that overall, I am happy with it. A specific thing that I like about this tote is the faux snakeskin. It has a really nice quality to it -it doesn't feel "flaky" as some faux snakeskin's do. As a matter of fact, the entire purse seems really well made. Obviously, it's not real leather, but it doesn't feel like cheap vinyl either. The mesh where the animal in the purse can get ventilation/see out of is rather thick, too, so it won't rip out easily. The mesh is on both side panels of the carrier as well as in the three silver holes on the front.
One thing I am kind-of disappointed about is the color. I really liked the way that the tote looked in the picture, with the chestnut color on top and the tan on the bottom. However, when the purse arrived, I discovered that the entire tote is in the chestnut color, with the faux-snakeskin part a cross between peach, chestnut and burnt sienna with a sheen of broze over it. See the pictures I plan on posting to view the color.
I also like that the purse is very sturdy, even standing on it's own. It's reassuring to me that I won't have to worry about the walls collapsing on my dog while in the tote.
Something to consider is that the shoulder handles aren't very big. I like to think that my arms are average size and let me tell you, it was a bit of a tight fit for my dog to stick her head out of the purse comfortably at the same time as I was carrying the purse on my shoulders.
Another thing to keep in mind is that although the mesh seems to be made of sturdy quality, I fear that there many not be enough ventilation for my dog. Maybe that is why in the pictures of this purse with an animal in it, the animal has its head out of the bag? Like I said, something to consider...
A final aspect of this purse to consider is the glorified "velvet-lined" piece of cardboard that velcro's to the bottom of the purse to help keep it's shape. I will definitely be adding a little blanket or something because it is really uncomfortable for her to just stand/sit on.
In regards to the use of this bag, I will probably use it for when I take her shopping at places she's not really "supposed" to be (grocery stores, apple orchards, etc.), as well as to carry her around for short distances. However, I would definitely not recommend this tote as a place to keep your pet in during long car rides or to keep your pet confined for an extended period of time.
For the most part, I'm happy with my purchase and would both recommend it to a friend and buy it again (hopefully for a lower price!).
Hope this helps!I love my bag it looks like a designer bag. My dog runs as soon as she heard the chains.... Love it!

I have a 3lb 10 month old yorkie. He is pretty much use to traveling in dog bags and this is the only bag he seems to enjoy. The minute he got in he scratched the bottom to make him self comfy, any devoted dog owner should know when a dog scratches an area they are about to lay themselves out.The color of the bad indeed does not match the picture but I think it's better the way it actually looks.
This bag is seriously for small dogs! If your dog cannot lay down for long periods of time without being restless this is not the bag for you.
Also if your dog likes dark and small places this is your match because unlike other bags not much light can get in because the top is not mesh. I do not recommend this bag for really hot days because it appears to keep doggy warm in the winter.
