Unlike other scratching posts I've had, this one has a wide enough base to keep it upright most of the time. The cats took to it almost immediately.
I cannot figure out what this is supposed to be used for. It will not stay together. If you pick it up the base falls off. My cats have no interest at all in using it. It sits and gathers dust. Thank goodness I got it on sale. I put the stick toys in it like umbrellas so it serves some job but I think it will end up in the dumpster when I move. Do not buy this. It is not a good scratcher. And it is not all that attractive either.
