The black sides on this toy are easily chewable. While the top and bottom is virtually undestructable, my 20 pound shiba exploited the sides of it and ripped this toy apart in a week.
This large, well-made toy is our Welsh collie's favorite. Well suited for tugging, fetch, quiet chewing, and impressing her friends, the Kong Ballistic Ring is much more versatile than most dog toys. The fabric is a tough nylon with a slightly fuzzy, fleece-like finish, and is highly resistant to punctures and tears ours is completely intact after four months of heavy outdoor use. The stitching and general construction is unusually rugged and appears capable of lasting a very long time, even with sustained chewing. The only wear on ours is a some fraying around the edge, where the most severe chomping takes place. It dries quickly after being soaked. It might be a little large for use in the house, but it is soft enough not to damage furnishings, and it would be quiet. An outstanding product, and an outstanding value.
