These flutterballs are also called Feather Flips. They are both made by the same company. The instant I saw these I knew they'd be a hit with our new kitten. She plays with lots of toys but these are the only toys she picks up and carries around with her. These toys really excite her and bring out her hunting instincts. You can detach the feathers from the ball but I personally would never just give our cat the feathers. She loves chewing on the feathers while her back paws scratch at the spongy ball filled with recycled plastic. The fleece on the balls is also made from recycled materials. Oh boy, my cat DESTROYED this thing. It didn't last very long and my cat isn't even that aggressive! I kept finding feathers everywhere and now all I have left are two cotton balls. :( I find that the absolute best cat toy is the KONG Swizzle Bird Teaser. It has survived some strong tugs between me and the cat and the feathers are still intact. He'll even carry it in his mouth and bring it to me just so that we can play together. My cats love this toy with cat nip inside. The feathers are put in place very well and so far not one has come out, despite terrific action from the cats. They share the toy, playing soccer with it, and it is small enough that it can be carried in a cat's mouth. I will order these again!
