This is a large product so I was amazed I recieved it only two days after placing the order. The ups man complained about the weight, and sighed and cried. He was a pathetic sort. I don't think he'd ever lifted anything heavier than sixty pounds. It's a big box full of carpet, roped cylinders, and particle board promises.
The directions were horrible. It looked like an exploding diagram drawn with charcoal on an elephant corpse. The parts aren't even labeled, and I realized half an hour later the screws are two different sizes. It took four educated human beings about three hours to put together. It's easy to put together, but the directions are quite a painful hinderance. I suggest upon opening the product to take out the directions, (it's only one sheet of chinese paper) and roll yourself a fatty with the directions because they are more than useless. Then open up the picture of the beloved article on Amazon and just lego that business like it's easy.
Upon completion, your painful frustration will turn to lucid joy as you watch your little pussies jump and play. And they love it. THey sleep, play, scratch, and do many other highly feline actions within it's walls. I quite like the modern art look to it, it's as though I have a Caulder in the living room.
I am the envy of all the other residents in my group home. It's also a great place to hide whippets, airplane bottles of green apple schnapps, and FBI listening devices, the orderlies never check. If you love your cats more than your children this is a great gift for your feline assasins. This cat tower is sturdy and definitely worth the money. Comparable towers cost twice as much.
The directions were terrible...HINT: Build it from top to bottom. If you build it from bottom to top, the bolts won't screw in properly.

The Good: StructureThe Cat Condo itself is great. At 73" it's taller than me. Our 2 cats absolutely adore it. They perch at the highest elevations when awake and retire inside the 2 "homes" when sleepy. I would recommend placing it near a window so your cats can enjoy the view from their throne.
The Bad: Instructions/Set Up
Instructions were horrible. It consisted of 1 sheet of paper showing a diagram of the structure and a poor indication of what size screws to use where (there were at least 4 or 5 different size screws). There was no parts list and no way of knowing exactly which size screw to use when setting up. Luckily for me, I guessed right. Set up time: 2 hours, if you're lucky.
The Ugly: Shipping
Item arrived 12 days from the date the order was placed. That was outside the window that Amazon provided. Given that shipping costs $23.95 you'd think the item would have arrived sooner.
Conclusion:
Overall, I give it a three given the shipping and set-up woes. The condo itself is nice. You'll be fine if you give yourself ample time to set it up and you aren't in a rush to receive it.

I purchased the biggest piece of cat furniture I could find in an attempt to ease tension in our newly blended cat family. So far, it seems to be working all five cats love it (except for the hammock that's a total flop). There are some major issues with the tree.
First, I did not receive it until a full week after its scheduled delivery date, and I had to call FedEx twice to make that happen. The box was in terrible shape and the address, apparently, was not written in a way that enabled FedEx to locate my house. I've never had a problem with this from any other vendor.
When I opened the box, I found that there was no protective packing material (fortunately, nothing was badly damaged) and that all of the hardware had fallen out of its package. This could have been disastrous, since there were large holes in the box. I ended up finding enough of the screws to put the thing together.
The fiberboard is pretty thin and flimsy it supports the cats, but I'm not sure how long it will hold up. I had expected the covering to be more like a rug it is faux fur. The sisal rope posts are solid.
Instructions and a list of parts were included, but the parts list was not correct and the instructions were minimal. Took me about an hour to put together (I'm generally pretty handy).
Finally, I was not able to attach the ramp on the second level, as the piece was not properly sized and the predrilled hole was not in the right place. This didn't matter much, though, since I was missing the screw that would have held that piece in place anyhow...
Overall, shoddy workmanship, but the cats like it, so I guess I'm glad to have it. I won't buy from this vendor again, though.I have purchased numerous cat trees over the years, and the cats always shred the carpeting to smitherenes. But this cat tree has fur fabric and all posts are sisal, so I anticipate it lasting much longer than my other cat trees. In the month since I purchased it, they have only scratched on the sisal posts, never on the fabric covering. It is very sturdy and has plenty of height for my "height loving" cats. If you want to fetch your cat out of the upper crow's nest, you'll need a good sized stepstool to get yourself up there. The cat tree is well built, strong with a stable base. When multiple cats get wild on it, it stands firm. The house is roomy enough for two kitties to nap in and they utilize both exit doors when they roughhouse. My cats also love the dangle toys. With the multiple levels the perfect distance apart, my cats find the tree easy to climb, even for the older ones. I purchased the honey colored version and it matches the decor of my house beautifully. I have to admit, my other cat owning friends also bought this same tree after seeing how much fun my cats were having on it. As with any cat tree, the major attraction of the toy is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Make sure you put the tree where the cats can enjoy and be near the activity center of your home. The distributor of the item is very prompt in shipping and prompt to answer any questions or concerns you have after delivery. Very nice transaction and I'll buy from them again.
