Ethical 4 Shimmer Balls Cat Toys

I adopted two 2-year-old cats about a month ago, and have been experimenting to see what kind of toys they like best. So far, the Shimmer Balls are their favorites. They go nuts over these! I've gotten a few other balls that don't make any noise, which are mostly ignored...despite enticements like a flashing light, or wobbly rolling. Nope, it needs to make noise like these do. And they like the shiny. I like the shiny too, because it helps me find them when they've been batted behind a fake plant! Aside from batting them around on their own, they also love for me to toss them down the hallway so they can gallop after them. Neither are showing any inclination to fetch them back for me to do it again, though. Darn. ;) This means they crouch by them, looking between me and the ball impatiently, waiting for the slow human to come get it and throw it again. So the Shimmer Balls also encourage human exercise. *g*

Since they've already managed to permanently hide two of the balls after a couple of weeks, I can tell I'm going to need to keep a regular supply on hand. If I find them in a larger package, I'll be getting it. 5 claws up!

My cat was not amused at all by the toy. She just stares at it and then walks away. Maybe this would be perfect for kittens but not for my 4-year old cat. She is a mixture of a Egyptian Mau and short hair domestic. I don't know if it is the breed or it's just her. I'm giving it three stars because the ball seems very durable, however, I don't think they were worth the $4 I spent. Unfortunately, my cat didn't spend hours playing with it, so I'll keep searching.

kitties love these, and grown cats as well! they just chase these silly little balls all over the house, and even pick them up in their mouths like a dog would and carry them to me to throw them. silly kitties!
