I have ordered several different types of Sand Perches stated "small" but upon receipt some were LARGE -went through this 3 times before finally finding this one that actually will work for a Canary.

I like the way it is sideways and not straight out... so the bird when on the swing does not poo all over it... unlike posts that go straight out and right underneath the swing.

It has been an ordeal to find cage items that are truly small and will work in a Canary or Parakeet size cage... this does and it is quite nice!

I originally had the 2 of these I bought sit on the top of my parrotlet's cages and it worked great! After I got them a new feeder that didn't include something for them to sit on while they ate I moved the perches into the cage for that purpose. Works great! Alsohaving some sanded perches in the cage certainly helps them file their own nails and beaks. Great buy!

The size of this perch is perfect for what I was looking for. The mount is also ideal. I have it mounted on the swing-door of the cage because my bird likes to sit on it when I open the door to take him out.

I bought two of these for my new parakeet; a small one and a medium one. I really like the way these perches bolt anywhere in the cage; they attach firmly to the wall of the cage, and they can be relocated easily. Food dishes can't always be placed within handy reach of the regular cage perches, and that's where these are very handy. They can be placed at any height between two food/water dishes.

My bird seems to like them just fine, and they're bound to help keep his toenails trimmed. The perches are made of hollow plastic that is coated with sand, but all the sand/cement perches I've looked at appear to be of similar construction. The two I received are a pretty pale green. I've already washed one with no problem. I'm glad I got them, and I'll probably get a few more.
