SturdiBag Large Pet Carrier Orange

I bought this SturdiBag pet carrier in size large for my 22 pound Boston Terrier. It's dimensions are stated as 18x12x12. Delta told me I needed 20x10x10 but I'm hoping the 2 extra inches in height and width will still fit under the seat in front of me on the plane since it's soft sided. HOWEVER, that being said, there's not a lot of extra room in this carrier for my BT. Fortunately, SHE LOVES IT. I think she thinks it's a secure little nest or something. She has to "scooch" to get in/out of it she definitely cannot stand in it. I put it next to my computer for her to get used to it and she goes in/out of it on her own and stays in it for more than an hour at a time as long as I'm next to her at the computer. I'm a little concerned about the product packaging stating this will hold up to a 40# dog. If so, it would have to be a OBESE chihuahua or something little like that. If my BT didn't feel so comfortable in it, I would not be recommending it for a 22# dog. I can recommend it as long as your dog likes cozy little places (my dog likes to sleep under the bed on a quilt, behind the couch, etc.). If I thought I could get away with the x-large carrier, I would have purchased that size for my 22# doggie but it wouldn't work for the plane.

My dog is a 16 lb Minature Poodle. The bag fit perfectly under the middle seat on my Southwest Airline Flight. This bag is better than the Sherpa Bag I was using as it give the dog more head room,softer bed and better ventilation.

I travel with my dog, a mini Sheltie, 16 pounds during 10 hours and she was ok. She did not feel that confined in the plane but in the airport I took her out to strech. Still she did not endure any discomfort from this travel bag.

I bought this after my cat outgrew her last carrier, after doing a lot of research about whether it'd fly on airlines. I've flown JetBlue twice with it; first time I sat in the middle seat and the carrier fit fine, but the second time I sat in the aisle and it barely fit under the seat in front. My cat was probably pretty uncomfortable on that flight, which explains why she cried the whole time, whereas the first time we flew, she was so quiet no one around us knew she was there.

My cat pretty much hates being in the carrier and tries to dig and scratch her way out as soon as she's in. She can remove the padding even when it's Velcroed down, but has yet to break through anything. But twice I put her in there when guests were in the house, and she somehow managed to unzip her way out, even with the included locks on the zip pulls. I still don't know how she does it. The locks are a bit flimsy, so perhaps she'll stay put if I used small Master locks instead.
