Pill Gun

This was a true goodsend when I had to switch my cancer kitty's medication from transdermal to oral. At the time, I was using the "bulls eye" pill gun (Piller Bull's Eye), which is much bigger, more rigid, and pilling an unwilling cat twice a day was a real chore, even with 2 people holding said unwilling cat down and said cat having been strapped into a "kitty straight jacket". It is amazing how much strength even a sick cat can muster when he feels his privacy is being invaded. One of my vet's techs put me on to this pill gun, and it has certainly made life easier. The recipient of the pills says no matter what contraption you use, he hates being pilled and will fight tooth and claw.

Seriously, I found that small size of the pill gun and the soft rubber tip do help when pilling an unwilling (or reluctant) recipient. I have very small hands, and for me it was easier to handle than the "bulls eye" model.

This thing was exactly what I was looking for. No sharp cat teeth to deal w/ when trying to insert the pill, therefor, more hands to hold onto squirming paws. It took a minute to figure out the best plan of "attack", but knowing I wouldn't have to worry about accidental biting made the whole thing easier to deal w/. The only drawback was that the pill I was administering was kind of small (tapeworm pill), so it fell out of the rubber grips pretty easily. 4 out of 5.

I was unable to find a smaller pill gun in stores, so I resorted to checking online. When I looked at this online, it seemed smaller and thought it would work perfect for the 1/2 pill I need to give my cat bid. It turned out to be bigger than what I thought and I have to position the pill just right or it falls out of the tip. I have managed to make it work and has been much easier to give my cat her pill without getting my fingers bit! I can see this was made for a whole pill, not 1/2 pill.

This device is not made for small-handed people.

My right hand (the one I'd be using for this) span is 8 inches (20.5 centimeters).

I have a very hard time 1) wrestling with an unwilling, clawed, and fanged participant; 2)keeping the pill IN the tip while doing #1; and 3)properly injecting said pill into participant's throat while doing #'s 1 & 2.

I would like to know if this pill-injector thingen comes in S, M, L, XL size??
