This inflatable collar was apparently comfortable enough for Wicket (my dog) to sleep in and he didn't struggle at all when I put it on or off of him. He could eat, drink and play with his toys without any problems at all, yet he wasn't able to lick or bite at his incision site at all.
There were no issues (as he healed enough!) with him even going up or down our stairs or jumping up on the couch. And it didn't look as ridiculous on him either.
I HIGHLY recommend these collars over the cone-style collars.Jeremiah, my 3lb Yorkie was scheduled to be neutered. I was watching "It's Me or the Dog" on The Animal Channel and saw a similar product in the show. I have had dogs all my life
And have used the conventional E-collars in the past and know how hard they are to keep on a small dog. I found this collar on line at Amazon and ordered it. It was reasonably priced and was shipped promptly. When Jeremiah had his surgery I took the collar to the Vets and dropped it off with him. Because it used his collar to fasten to his neck there was no way he could remove it! I was able to leave him at home while I worked with no worries that he would chew on his incision. An added bonus was that
Instead of making it hard for him to lay down the Collar actually worked as a pillow. The Vet tech said he was going to see about ordering some for their patients. I am very pleased with this product and would recommend
It to other owners!

My 7lb cat had a hernia operation that required the use of an Elizabethan cone for 10 days. She was sent home with the floppy kind that could be worn down over her body, but she's so small and the fabric was so long that she kept tripping over it. I went back to the vet to get the standard hard plastic collar, which my cat couldn't remove but was clearly uncomfortable for her. She was bumping into everything and falling off the furniture. She couldn't eat, drink or use the litter properly and, when the poor thing started to walk backwards in an attempt to get away from the cone I couldn't bear it any longer and just removed it. While searching for an alternative, I found this inflatable collar and it has been, by far, the best one for my cat. It was large enough so that she couldn't worry her stitches, but not so large that it affected her ability to judge distance, so she wasn't walking into things. She was able to eat, drink, sleep and use the litter box freely. The velcro strip in the front holds it on tightly, but doesn't press against her throat she didn't even try to remove it. She still gave me dirty looks, but at least her stitches remained intact.Read Best Reviews of KONG Cloud E-Collar for Cats and Dogs Here
I got this for my little 10lb maltipoo after she was spayed. It was less intrusive than the standard e-collar, and allows her to play with her toys. It fit perfectly. This works for spays or other stomach surgery, but if you're buying this for an animal that has had surgery on their limbs or genitals (nueter) this won't work. She was able to bite at her back legs and cootie :)However, for my purposes it was great and made a huge difference in her personality.
UPDATE:
Less than two days after posting this review my puppy was able to not only chew a hole in this collar, but subsequently chew out her stitches. I have an 8 month old maltipoo. If this isn't sturdy enough to withstand a toy breed puppy, it's not made well at all.
Waste of money, good idea, but waste of money. Our skinny dog can escape through the fence and was busted going potty in other peoples yard. My hubby didn't want to put chicken wire around the bottom of the fence as out HOA is super strict. This fixed it! It doesn't bother him in the least. In fact we are puppy sitting and the dog is also skinny. At this very moment the dog is wearing it and he isn't acting like it bothers him either. wonderfull product. I love KONG.
