These were my criteria:
1. Safety/Durability (No pokey wires, or collapsing pieces.)
2. Holds its shape
3. Looks good in my house
4. Length (They have to have enough room to run through it.)
5. Not too expensive (I don't need to mortgage my home over it.)
This one is the only one I found that hit on all of these priorities. No ridiculous colors, plenty long, holds its shape...and the cats just love it! LuluBat is a fraidey-baby. She never played with the old tunnel at all, but every now and then, even she will take a turn running through this one. Wentworth practically lives in it. He loves sticking his head out of the top. He enjoys racing me through it, from the back to the front, and he will seek refuge there, when he wants to be alone.
From a safety perspective, it is durable, with no poking wires (like the last one had), although it does have a hanging ball of thread. My cats made short work of that. I was glad they did. I didn't really trust that. I'd have removed it if they hadn't.
One other nice feature This tunnel has tiebacks, so you can scrunch it back together quickly and easily, tie it up, and stow it away, when you don't want it out.
To give you an idea Wentworth is a large male, about 12 lbs. LuluBat is a small female, 9 lbs. max.Received this promptly after ordering (great packaging). Just untie the strings at each end and the tunnel "pops out" to 53" in length. It is made of a very sturdy, nylon-type material, and the length (assuming you have the room), affords your cat(s) plenty of play room. It reminds me somewhat of an enclosed "slip and slide" for kitties. My cats took to this immediately without hesitation, and seem to enjoy the "crinkly" sound of the tunnel when they are at play. There is (or rather, was), a small dangling toy from the middle entrance, which lasted about 2 seconds before it became detached. But, this is no problemmy cats drag their own toys into the tunnel to play. Overall, this was a very satisfactory purchase. Would recommend for either one cat or multiple cat household, since it is so roomy.
UPDATE--Just ordered another tunnel, I was so impressed with the durability and "play factor" I plan on joining the two together to make a really long play area for my furballs. For the money you REALLY CANNNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS ITEM. I have purchased many toys for my cats, but this by far, has been the best investment ever!!

My cats love this thing and it was soooo affordable. They tear through it like wild things and it shows no sign of wear. The litlle ball didn't last long but I didn't expect it to. They chewed through the cord right quick. It is really tough and will stand up to a lot of cat torture.Read Best Reviews of HDP Cat Tunnel Collapsible PET KITTEN PLAY 53" L with a Toy Here
Ordered this for my 11 year old Maine Coon with some apprehension. Normally she rejects store bought toys for shoe strings and hangers, but when i saw how she loved to tunnel into my sleeping bag I thought I'd give it a try. It's perfect, large enough for her 13 lb girth, easy to stow away & she even plays with the attached ball (for as long as it will hold up). Thinking about ordering a 2nd to expand her play land.Want HDP Cat Tunnel Collapsible PET KITTEN PLAY 53" L with a Toy Discount?
We love this tunnel! My 1 year old cat loves running through it and even got my super picky 8 year old cat to pay with/in it! I love that its collapsible for cleaning around and that it came with a toy that my cats quickly destroyed but they LOVE it! Such a great toy for my cats to get extra exercise!
