After the batteries died I decided to look for it again and found it here on Amazon so I quickly ordered one. When it arrived I noticed that the actual plush toy itself was a little smaller, not as plush, and the quality of the material didn't feel as sturdy but it did make the sound my dog loves so I figured oh well what the heck. After my dog played with it for about 5 days the voice box inside that made the sound stopped working. He didn't play any rougher with this toy compared to original one but it was quickly destroyed. I figured that it might be a faulty one so I ordered another one here on Amazon.
Once I got the third it was the same build quality as the second but I gave it to my dog anyways. This time he played with it for about 3 days before it stopped making the sound. The night that the toy stopped working I noticed a small button battery (http://www.amazon.com/AG13-LR44-Alkaline-button-battery/dp/B000EOMGLI/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1336868680&sr=8-19) on the floor and I had no idea where it came from. I looked around to try to figure out where the battery came from and my wife said to check the stunt pilots chicken. I was thinking to myself that there is no way it could have fallen out of it but I was very wrong. I noticed that the front seam of the chicken was open and I could see the voice box inside so I pulled it out and sure enough the battery came from it. I'm not one to be very overly protective but I don't think that this is really acceptable for a dog toy because my dog is relatively gentle with his toys compared to other dogs (he's been described as "dainty").
It's a great toy. Dogs love it, but because of the poor quality, this toy seems like a safety hazard. If Hartz could offer the toy in its original quality, then I would highly recommend it, but until then I would stay away.I won one of these chickens at a dog show, and presented it to my young Jack Russell, when her head nearly exploded. SHE LOVED IT, and she continues to love it. I have since purchased no fewer than 10 to have on hand to keep the puppy happy as she wears each one out. I'd recommend it for any dog, and have given many as gifts already to all my dog friends.

It took my 23 pound cocker less than an hour to destroy this toy, leaving fuzz all over the house. It is cute, but clearly not designed for actual dogs to play withRead Best Reviews of STUNT PILOTS CHICKEN Plush Dog Toy Here
I cannot recommend this toy for any dog that likes to chew toys, which is probably most dogs. Our 8 year-old son used his allowance money to buy one of these as a Christmas present for our puppy. Our son and dog loved it. As expected, after a while the dog tore open the seams and pulled out the stuffing. Unfortunately he also pulled out the sound device, chewed it open and swallowed the 3 button batteries. After a trip to the vet, and a couple days of worrying, he passed the batteries. My ShitTzu has at least 50+ toys and this one is by far his favorite; he thinks it is alive because of the "chicken noise" it makes. He carries it around with him and only lays it down by his bowl when he eats.
