KONG Ballistic Tug, Dog Toy, Large (Colors Vary)

This is one of our Pit Bull's favorite toys. He is a chewer that likes variety. He has a basketfull of goodies to chew on and the Kong line is his favorite. Kong only seems to last a bit longer than his other toys so we purchase frequently. We also have one in the car so he doesnt go for the seat belts. :\

We've only had this a week, and it has survived our 60 pound dog's jaws and teeth so far. She absolutely loves playing tug of war with it (it's soft enough to grab easily, but tough enough to withstand the pulling and tugging). Because of the toy's length and shape, you can stand straighter than with other tug toys (it's easier on the back). And if I want extra grabbing power, I can grab both rings with 2 hands.

The only downside is that we can't leave her alone with it because if she starts chewing on it, her incisors can easily cut through the black nylon material that serves as the edging. It's starting to fray in a few spots where she started to cut into the edging material. When we hear her teeth chewing on it, we put away the toy.

It is kind of pricey for a toy (around $15 including shipping), so we'll see how long it lasts.

Kong claims that this tug toy is made of ballistic nylon? My 30 pound Border Collie, who is not a paricularly aggressive chewer, had this toy for 25 minutes before he ripped a 3 inch hole in it and had most of the stuffing pulled out. I have had $2 dog toys from the dollar store last longer. Very disappointed in the quality of this item and will not be purchasing any more Kong products

This tug toy is very tough! I have a year and four month old golden retriever puppy and she destroys everything we give her, but this tug toy is really tough! We have been using it for about a week now and there is still no holes or tears, and my dog loves it!

The squeakers do not work..... My Rottie enjoys the squeaking sound more than anything and therefore is not interested in this toy.
