We have a Jack Russell Terrier and let me tell you she will chew through ANY toy in a manner of 24 hours at the most. Typically it's more like 24 minutes....or 4 minutes. Or 2. Seconds. The point is, she destroys things faster than you can blink an eye and if it has a squeaker in it, it triggers an instant and savage need to chew that sucker until it is beyond dead and possibly in a hundred pieces all over my house. I don't think it's that she hates them, but more that she's SO EXCITED TO SEE WHAT IS MAKING THAT FANTASTIC NOISE!! We've had this Ruffian for somewhere in the vicinity of 2 years now and while it has suffered a number of superficial scratches and is dirty, it's still in excellent condition for a toy that is constantly in the jaws of a 10 lb chewing machine. This is our dogs #1 go to toy for playing fetch. When she's feeling playful and we're not worn out enough from cleaning up the remains of the last toy she 'played' with, "Go get your toy!", translates to "Get the Almighty Blue Toy Of Immeasurable Joy And Happiness!". It's made of a very sturdy, thick rubber material, but not so thick that it can't be squeezed or chewed -think Kongpretty easily. In fact, I honestly suspect there is some voodoo involved in a toy that is this easy to squeak, but a masticating monster can't chew through. The two sized round ends are great for small to maybe medium sized dogs I'd say. Our dog likes to chew the large side which is great because that leaves the smaller side for us to grab without as much risk of a hand covered in dog slime. We've played hundreds if not thousands of rounds of tug-of-war, fetch, 'squeak-until-the-dog-goes-into-a-coma-from-anticipation-of-playing', and general solo 'I will chew this until I drive all humans crazy in the house', and yet this toy has survived them all. I would also like to point out that when she chews on this, she chews the side where the squeaker is, and so far whatever magic they used to seal the squeaker in place is still going strong. Other toys have come and gone in rapid succession, but our Ruffian continues to last. I really recommend this toy for any dog owner who's dog loves squeaky toys. If for some weird reason your dog doesn't like it? Let me know and I'll be happy to send my dog over to have a heart to heart with your dog. Just hide the Ruffian. My miniature Dachshund loved this toy while it lasted. My puppy is 4 months old and within a few days the squeaker was no longer working and within several more days the squeaker was pushed into the toy creating a hole in the toy. My dog still attempts to take the squeaker out by biting at the hole. The plastic is pretty tough but they needed to make the squeaker and surrounding area stronger to withstand an aggressive persistent chewer.

Our dog chews everything up, but this he has just punctured a few times. The squeaker is strange in shape, and only works if squeezing the sides of the cat's head.Want JW Pet Company Ruffians Cat Dog Toy, Small (Colors Vary) Discount?
