If your cat is a string eater, DO NOT buy this toy! My cat LOVED the toy... perhaps a bit too much. My cat is a big, powerful young cat, and loves to chase and go after his toys with a vengeance. If you do get this toy I strongly urge you to not let the toy out of your sight, and securely store it when not in use. It's a great concept, but frankly, I don't think it's made strongly enough to stand up to cats play.

After a great game of chase a few weeks ago I put it away where I thought he couldn't get it. The next morning, I found that he had gotten into the cupboard, pulled the toy out and chewed through the string, detaching it from the stick and the bird, and consumed the string. $855.00 vet bill later, the cat is fine, but I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this toy.

Thought this was cute, however, my cat killed it in less than 2 minutes like the previous review. The loop that is on the bird broke, the wand string broke, and the bell and feather fell off too. I will probably just sew the bell back on and make a new loop for the head, but my cat also like to carry the bird around anyway and play with like a ball

THIS PRODUCT IS DANGEROUS FOR CATS!!! We purchased this item for my cat for Christmas. She found it laying around and pulled the string off of the toy it then wrapped around her paw so tight it cut of her circulation. She was in pain and hid under my bed. I didn't think anything was wrong because she hides under the bed a lot...But when I noticed she had been under there a long time I pulled the bed out and found her with the string wrapped around her foot. Her paw was purple and swollen. I am taking her to the vet it the morning because the color hasn't returned to her foot and she is limping. The string was almost like a noose with the hook for the angry birds stuck in it...I am very unhappy with this....and now am going to have a vet bill. Not to mention of course be beloved cat is in a lot of pain!!!

I don't know what it is w/this toy but Pete LOVES it. I'm here to order more. I've read the negative reviews and some parts of them are true. The string doesn't last long (big deal, your cat shouldn't have string to play with anyway). The little plastic bell breaks (big deal, your cat shouldn't have toys that he could eat and swallow). There is something about the stuffed part of the toy that Pete loves. He carries it around everywhere and gets super sad when it's stuck under furniture. *laugh* He is a silly cat and he acts even sillier around this toy! Pete is a string eater so we automatically cut the strings off and just give him the stuffed portion (minus the bell). Cat toys aren't always cat safe and friendly. It is up to the pet owner to do the responsible thing to make them safe for your furry friend to enjoy.

My normally lazy cat swings and bats at it, gets in a stalking pose and generally seems to really like this, even w/o catnip.

I think it might work better with a longer wand and shorter cord, but otherwise a good value.
