Looks good. Good design but cheap construction. Cats look at it but don't really use it. Overall it's ok. end

My review is of the previous incarnation of this item, the Kitty Kabana by Catcraft (no longer available anywhere I can find). From what I can tell, this is a new version of the same thing. It certainly looks like it. And if that's the case, I heartily recommend it for anyone who works/volunteers with rescue cats. We use it at our adoption center, which is located within a Petco store. It is noisy, there are a lot of people going by, there are dogs going by, and in general it's not a normal/home atmosphere. But the cats get seen and they get adopted. However, we have learned that it is not a good idea to give them furniture with holes where they can hide. Nobody can see them and they get stressed out when we have to pry them out of the holes. With the cabana, the cats feel enclosed and protected while still being visible and comfortable. When we need to move them, it is easy and not stressful for the cats. Even for those cats who aren't stressed out, it's a great lounger. About the only cats I wouldn't recommend it for are rambunctious kittens or those cats who are likely to sit on top instead of inside (the top is not the sturdiest thing in the world and is certainly not meant to hold a heavy cat's weight). The supportive dowel rod connecting the legs got lost on our cabana and I was able to just purchase a dowel from a home improvement store to replace it. The cabana has held up for years being used every day and hundreds of rescue cats have benefited from it. I sincerely hope the quality is as good on this version, and will be recommending our rescue get some more for the other adoption centers! We hadn't been able to find it for ages.

Our cat was interested in this the minute I had it put together. The assembly was very easy, as it goes together with Velcro. But on the downside, Velcro may not hold together too well with our 17 lb big male cat! He hasn't attempted to get on the top yet, but I'm pretty sure it would topple over. After a week, it seems to be OK for him to sit in the bottom part.
So he really likes it, but I would hesitate purchasing this if you have a hefty cat likes ours. I'm not sure how long it will hold up over time.
