Play-N-Squeak Wobble Mouse Squeaking Cat Toy

Play-N-Squeak Wobble Mouse Squeaking Cat ToyWhen we added an incredibly energetic stray kitten from the local humane society to our household, I knew I would need to go shopping for cat toys. This one caught my eye because of the sturdiness factor, but if it hadn't been for the squeak, I would probably not have bought it--because for what you get, it's very expensive. The toy ships with a plastic tab, so that it arrives with full battery power. Unfortunately, the shop had no tester, so I bought it squeak unheard.

Had I heard the squeak before I purchased the toy, I would never have bought it. It is almost inaudible! I took it back to the store. They told me that's how it's supposed to sound. They saw no reason to provide me with a refund. Bummer!

So sturdy though it may be, it isn't something either of our cats found interesting. The base under the plush covering is a heavy plastic. It really doesn't wobble much, just rocks once or twice and then sits there like the expensive lump that it is. Nothing dangles to attrack the cats, either, providing the illusion of make-believe prey. The tail is stiff, as are the ears.

Maybe a small dog would play with this, but my cats both turned up their noses. This one is headed for Goodwill. Spend the equivalent amount on something like Da Bird, Cat Dancer, Ethical Skinneez, or another wand toy. You'll not only save money, but your cat will actually get some use out of it.
