Petlinks System Pillar Pawz

I have one cat, a coon-tabby mix that is now a year old, with front claws. She used to sharpen them on the legs of the table, chairs, the side of the couch, the plantation shutters, etc. When I bought this scratching post from Target sorry Amazon I didn't have high hopes, but I had to try something. Much to my shock she immediately took to it. It's now been about six months and she hardly ever sharpens her claws on anything other than the post, and the post is somehow still intact. So, I, and my furniture, are very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

Got the full attention of one of my cats, so far not the other. Cats are finicky though.

Aforementioned Caveats:

You may not get the color in the picture.

The little catnip-filled toy is designed to pop off and can be snapped back on. But it comes off very easily. I haven't seen it in a while. Probably under the couch.

Otherwise, it's pretty nice. So far we like it.

Update: The base is not very strong. My son leaned on it (admittedly, my son is not a cat) and the bolt/washer ripped through the thick particle/cardboard base. Just something to keep in mind. If you have little ones.

Our ~7 lb. cat loves this scratcher. She used to claw our sofas until we found this product, and our sofas have been safe ever since. She primarily scratches the base, but also scratches the post. She doesn't play with the feather ball very often, and knocked the post over once.

What made us pick this product over all the other thousands is that the base is not a carpet material! So our cat wouldn't be encouraged to scratch floor carpeting.

Each cat responds to scratchers differently (our other cat uses cardboard exclusively), but this one was a furniture-saver for our other cat.
