I have 2 male Yorkies, 2 yrs. and 7 mos. They are both VERY picky eaters. They would prefer to eat people food. I have finally convinced my husband and mother they are better with just pet food (although I still catch Grandma slipping them crackers occassionally!) I found that they would rather go days without food than eat dry, very good high quality dry food I might add. Finally I ordered this canned food and I add a small spoonful to their dish with the dry food and mix it all together. Wow, they wolf it down and lick the dish. I also had a problem with them getting up 3 or 4 times in the night and picking at their food. Now they eat AM and PM and sleep better in the night. The food is gooey and soft when I open the can (great for mixing) but after sitting in the refrig. awhile it gets stiffer. I use a spoon I run under hot water and add a drop of hot water and it melts the fat and makes it much more mixable. All I can say is that my dogs love it. Do they still beg? Yes, but that will only end when my mother quits sneaking them bites!

For my 40 pound, 12 month old Aussie, I feed a combination of Orijen grain-free dry food and Newman's Own grain-free canned food for a total of approximately 900 calories per day. I bought this thinking I was getting a variety pack of the three flavored and got only one, the plain beef. My dogs (Pomeranians and German Shepherds) LOVE this food, and I love the ingredients list, nothing that isn't whole and unadulterated.

Everything in the product description, the picture, ingredients list, etc., made me think it was a selection of all three flavors, which is what I wanted. I suggest you make this clear for future buyers.

I'm sorry to give this product only three stars. It's not really fair because Newman's Own products have always been very high quality and as advertised.

This review is simply based on the fact my ordinarily non-fussy dogs would not eat it. I should have purchased only a couple cans before buying a whole case, but that was my reliance on all the other Newman's Own products I have bought.

My advice is to try maybe just one can first to make sure your dog likes it.
