I bought these for two different dogs, one age 5plus (Yorkie) that enjoys "tug of war" type play, and one 1 yr old (Maltese) that has never enjoyed tug or war type play. The Yorkie loves hers, but my Maltese seems perplexed what to do with this toy. Either way, these are well made I've bought them for much more high energy larger dogs who tend to destroy every toy in a short period of time and they've stood the test of time.
