The pellets don't disintegrate easily. If given loosely the pellets will stay on the floor until the effect wears off then can be easily picked up by hand. I think these will work better inside toys that were made to hold the catnip teabag refills. The downside is, the stray pellets on the floor look like rodent feces making one's mother-in-law recoil in disgust. That can be good or bad depending on your needs.

I've purchased other compressed catnip pellets for my furry son's toys before and have he really enjoyed it. However, this product didn't do a thing for him. Not worth the cost.
